Parents, thank you for visiting my site. I try to teach children the importance of manners through A Quest for Good Manners, my classes and my presentations at schools and libraries. However, my success is totally dependent on you and how you reinforce good behavior at home.
Good manners will help your child feel confident in new social situations with new people. They will help your child be aware of how we make others feel through our actions. Here are some ways that your children will not only have good manners:
1 . Every meal is a learning opportunity. Encourage your children through example and positive reinforcement. Instead of saying, “Don’t put your elbows on the table.” Say, “Please put your arm in your lap.”
2 . Whenever you can get the family to all sit down together at the table and please switch of the television and the radio. Magical things pop up in the silence. It grounds the children as well as the parents.
